Jason Volk, Principal

I am extremely excited to be a member of the Stockton CUSD #206 administrative team and school community.  I grew up in Monticello, WI and graduated high school in 1997.  After starting to continue my education, taking some time away from advancing my education, and then refocusing on a career in education, I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2008. I started my career in education teaching 3rd grade at Center Elementary in Freeport, Illinois for 8 years. My Master’s degree was obtained through Aurora University in 2012 and I took a position as a Dean at Carl Sandburg School in Freeport in 2016.  After spending 2 years as Dean, I became the Assistant Principal for 3 years before taking my current position in Stockton in 2021.  I look forward to working with students, families, staff and the community to provide a high quality educational experience for all stakeholders.

I am married to my wife, Tracy, who is also an educator, and we have two wonderful children named Parker (son) and Payton (daughter).  We love playing and watching sports and spending time outdoors with our family, friends and our dog Buster. Being a born and raised Wisconsinite, I am a huge Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers fan.  Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself if you see me around and I look forward to making a positive impact on the school and community!

James Bunting, Superintendent

I am honored to be the superintendent of Stockton Community Unit School District 206, and to partner with our students, educators, families, and community to ensure we provide the community with educational, vocational, and extracurricular opportunities.

As the Superintendent of Schools, my focus is on our students, and I make a continuous effort to meet students and parents, visit classrooms, attend school events, and build relationships both in our schools and in our community.  I encourage you to introduce yourself to me if you see me around the community or at an event.

A little about myself.  I am married to my wonderful wife Janet Bunting and we have three children Allee, Emily, and Justin.  I enjoy fishing and spending time with my family.  My college career started at Joliet Junior College and I then transferred to Eastern Illinois University.  While at Eastern I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education, Masters in Educational Administration, and Superintendent Endorsement.  My teaching career started in Freeport, IL as a seventh-grade math teacher for a year.  I then moved to Watseka, IL, and had been with the district for the past 25 years.  I taught junior high math and was a middle and high school principal and superintendent during my time in Watseka.  I am excited to lead Stockton moving forward.
